This project talks about the inner and outer experience in the field of transformational architecture. I use parasite logic to explore the parasitic relationship between physical structure(new) and architecture space(old).
The main objectives
– Transformation of the Mock-Up building into a community / cultural center
– Parasite as transformational “tool”
– Atmosphere
PART ONE
-WHAT?
Transformation of the Mock-Up building into a community / cultural center
NEW PURPOSE
Here is a description of multiple layers of architectural space:
〝a wandering musician played the minuet from Don Giovanni on a kind of reed pipe ( I could not see what it was, as he was in another courtyard), a pharmacist pounded his medicine, and the housemaid scrubbed in the courtyard [added in margin: and the groom currying his horse knocked the currycomb against a stone, and from another corner of the city came the cry of the shrimp seller]etc., and they did not notice a thing, and perhaps the flautist did not either, and I felt so wonderful.〞
—Soren Kierkegaard’s papers, June 10, 1836 《Refractions _ Artistic _ Research _ in _ Architecture》
This sentence describes the real space outside the window meets the spiritual world inside the window, and the sound is like a bridge to connect them. The spiritual world combines real scenes, emotion and memory, it’s between reality and sensitivity.
For the architecture space, light is a very important element. So I use the physical structure to transform the original building, use light to make multiple layers experience.
PART TWO
